Medical Eye Care in Riverdale

Glaucoma and medical eye care in Riverdale GA

The most serious eye diseases usually don't hurt and don't blur your vision until real damage is done. That's why our Riverdale office is built around medical eye care: finding problems early and keeping them under control.

Glaucoma. We measure eye pressure, image the optic nerve and test side vision so glaucoma is caught early and followed closely. If you already have glaucoma, we monitor it visit to visit and work with your eye surgeon when needed. Learn about glaucoma.

Diabetes. A yearly dilated eye exam is one of the most important things a person with diabetes can do. We look carefully for diabetic changes in the retina. Diabetes and your eyes.

Macular degeneration and cataracts. We photograph the retina to track macular changes over time, and we check cataracts and refer you for surgery when it's time. Learn about macular degeneration.

Eye Care for Seniors in Riverdale

Many Riverdale families have been coming to this office for years. We take the time older patients deserve: we explain results in plain language, check how vision changes affect reading, driving and getting around safely, and make sure glasses are comfortable and easy to see through. We accept Medicare, and we're happy to talk with a family member or caregiver about your care.

Eye Exams in Riverdale, GA

What a Bolt Eye Group exam includes

A comprehensive exam with us is more than reading letters off a chart. We check your prescription carefully and measure your eye pressure. Then we look at the front and back of the eye, and we use digital imaging to photograph the retina and optic nerve. Those photos give us a baseline to compare against every year, so small changes stand out early.

Why a yearly exam matters

Glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration often have no early symptoms. The blood vessels at the back of your eye can also show early signs of high blood pressure and diabetes, sometimes before a medical doctor has caught them. A yearly exam is how we catch these while there's still time to protect your sight.

How to schedule

We see patients on Thursdays and Fridays. Book online any time, day or night, or call or text 770-994-9913. Bring your insurance and Medicare cards, your current glasses, and a list of the medications you take.

Gucci and Designer Eyewear in Riverdale

Our Riverdale optical carries Gucci and other designer frames, plus good-value frames that work with your vision plan, so you can find something that looks right whatever your budget. Our opticians take your measurements, check every finished pair, and adjust your glasses at pickup so they sit comfortably. We also repair and adjust glasses. Browse our eyewear.

Riverdale Eye Care FAQs

How much does an eye exam cost in Riverdale, Georgia?

It depends on your coverage and the reason for your visit. Most vision plans, including VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision and Spectera, cover a yearly routine exam with a small copay. Visits for a medical problem such as glaucoma, diabetes, dry eye or an eye infection are usually billed to your medical insurance or Medicare instead. If you're paying on your own, call 770-994-9913 and we'll give you the price before you book. We also accept HSA and FSA cards and CareCredit.

Do you take Medicare?

Yes. Medicare covers your eye exam: the part where we check the health of your eyes for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and more. Medicare does not cover the refraction, which is the part of the exam that measures your prescription for glasses, so there is a small refraction fee that you pay at your visit. Some Medicare Advantage plans cover the refraction too. Call us with your plan name and we'll let you know before your visit.

Who will I see at my exam?

Every Riverdale patient is seen by Dr. Quynh Ta, a board-certified optometrist.

What days is the Riverdale office open?

Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can book online any time at the link on this page.

Does my insurance cover glasses?

Most vision plans include an allowance toward frames and lenses. We'll check your benefits and show you frames that are covered, from good-value styles to Gucci and other designer frames.
